Amami Oshima has only one airport (Amami Airport).

There are two passenger ferry ports on the island.
One is Naze Port in the city of Naze. The other is Koniya Port in Koniya town in the south.
From Naze Port, you can access Kagoshima, Okinawa, Tokunoshima, Okinoerabujima, and Yoronjima. From Koniya Port, you can access Kagoshima, Tokunoshima, Kikaijima, and Okinoerabujima.

Most of the villages in Amami Oshima can be reached by bus. However, due to the small number of flights, prior confirmation is required.
From Amami Airport to downtown Naze, you can take a bus immediately from the airport. You can also take a taxi from the airport.
